Project professional 2007 trial version installation problem

Hi,
Can anyone help me with the installation of Project Professional 2007. I
am running windows xp professional service pack 2. I made the cd and I got
the exe file on my desktop. I also got hte product key but whenever I run the
file to install I am getting hte message " the expected version of product
was not found on the system" What is wrong. Please help.

Hi Sherry,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

It sounds like you have got the upgrade version and the installer is looking
for your previous license. Check with your seller that you purchased the
full version.

If you are planning to use Project Server along with Project Pro, try
posting on the microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup (forum). Please
see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups.

If you are not planning to use Project Server, than go for the cheaper
Project Standard version. The only difference is that the Pro version has
the extra bits to allow communication with Project Server, otherwise there
is no difference.
