Resources Allocation in Project Server 2003

How can I get the % allocation for the different resource groups?

For eg: I am having S/W Engineers, Mechanical Engineer...(Resource Groups)
I need to find a way to look at the allocation of e.g. all software
engineers globally.
How should this be done?

I have an Enterprise Field to specify the Resource Code(for Eg. S/W
Engr,Mechanical engr.....). But this field is not appearing in Portfolio
Analzer field .

Thanks & Regards,

We had a similar issue. None of the simple type of enterprise fields would
automatically migrate to the cube and hence to the portfolio analyzer views.

To resolve, we used one of the enterprise OUTLINE codes for the field, even
though a plain field (simple type, non-outline) would suffice. Then we
modified the specific views to include these outline codes.

Microsoft has a document somewhere describing how to add other fields to the
cube in PS 2003. Never tried it; as I remember (and that is fuzzy) this
requires programming, altering DLLs, and more. That would be useful if you
are out of outline codes and you simply MUST have the field.

Best of luck.

Hello Jayalakshmi,

To appear enterprise custom fileds in Portfolio Analzer, you have to
extend the OLAP cube by adding those fileds. You have to modify the
view to by adding those fields.

I have link on extending OLAP cube on MS Project Server 2002. But as I
know, it is same for MS Project Server 2003. You can use the below
link for reference.

Hi Jayalakshmi,

I agree with Mac. It's lot of effort to extend the OLAP cube. In my
opinion, it's better just write SQL query and develop SRS Report. It's
easy.

Thanks
