I am trying to work on a database that resides on another
persons shared drive in our workgroup (we both have XP).
Am getting the database is read-only error msg. even
after I've right-clicked on the file and unchecked the
read-only box next to attributes. Any suggesstions other
than move it to shared folder? Why am I still getting the
msg??

The only thing I can think of is that you don't have full permissions. You
need FULL permissions. That means you need create, delete permissions also.

Often, when someone shares a folder, they share it as read only.

So, check the permissions. Ms-access needs create and delete rights to the
folder.
