text in a circle

Hello there.
I've been using publisher on and off for about 8 years now but I don't
consider myself an expert
I've been trying to do something today but haven't managed it so I wonder if
anyone can help
Basically I want to add text to the inside of a circle close to the
circumference and curved rather like the small text you often find around
the edges of cd's/dvd's. Can this be done in publisher 2002?

I know how to curve text using wordart but the size of the text always
remains large. I want text of a very small font that goes pretty much all
around the circle, on the inside.
I'd like to be able to do this with publisher but I also have Photoshop and
Paint Shop Pro 7 by jasc. Both of which are graphics applications - but they
don't seem to offer this feature either.
Thanks.

Surely PhotoShop has this feature, fit text to shape or similar. I have Corel and
that is the command it uses. I'm quite sure Paint Shop also can do this. You can try
this with WordArt, but it will take a lot of time and patience.

This can be done easily in Publisher 2002 using the older WordArt. If you go
to Insert > Object and choose Microsoft WordArt 2.0 you can put in circle
text with your font choice which will be much smaller than the options
available in the newer WordArt.

Yes, you can Don. The reason is because Publisher 2000 has the older WordArt
version ;-)

I am a happy user of Serif PP 9.0! I still prefer Publisher, but PP ROCKS.

Jim,

I use PP for a project or two. :) I found some of the ways PP and Pub
do things to be very similar.

Merry Christmas,

Mike but in some areas each has major strengths over the other, and
sufficiently different features to make it more than worthwhile to own both.

David,

I've used Pub 2K and 2003 and found it relatively easy to use. Not a fan
of wizards that use color schemes, makes it harder to do B&W printing if
they sent it in color. The ONLY reason I started with PP instead of Pub
(or PageMaker) was that PP was printer independent, pretty important
would I would have to print a hard copy, send a fax and print a PS file.

Merry Christmas, my friend. May 2004 bring you lots of happiness and
satisfaction!

Mike
