trial version + bought new version. How to get rid of trial?

I decided I couldn't afford the "business" version of Office that was
pre-installed on my laptop (I did activate it for the 60 day trial) and
yesterday I bought a "home" version. I installed the new and now want to get
rid of the old. "Trial" still appears at the top of the screen. I thought the
one would over-write the other.

No, you should have uninstalled the trial version before installing your
purchased version.

Uninstall the trial version and re-install Office 2003 from your original
installation source.

thanks for your answer, i have not uninstalled the 2003Pro version so then
all i would do is uninstall the trial version but my concern is mostly for
outlook with professional contacts the trial version seem to have removed the
2003?

If you have your Office 2003 media, you can re-install it. Are you saying
your data is missing, or Outlook is missing? Did Office 2007 install Outlook
2007?

no my data files are not missing, it's only Outlook professional 2003 which
has been replaced by thre2007

I now understand I should have uninstalled the other package first. However
at this point I am not sure what to uninstall as both versions are 2007 (with
a Vista operating system). Should I now just wait for the expiry of the 60
day version to lapse?

Hello Mezzodiva. I sometimes wonder who I am talking to. Are you a microsoft
person or just someone like myself. I followed the advice of the guy in the
store and that is why I am where I am.

Most of the people on this forum are peers who like to help others. There
are occasionally Microsoft people who pop in, but not regularly. These
microsoft.public.* community groups are peer forums hosted by Microsoft,
staffed by no one in particular.

If you want specific help from a Microsoft person, you'd need to contact
Product Support. Otherwise, give the article I mentioned a try.
