Why are all my icons greyed out and unavailable in Office 2003?

All of a sudden whilst working within Word 2003, all my icons greyed out and
became unavailable. I have tried repairing, re-installing, removing
completely and installing and a system restore, all to no avail.
Please Please HELP!!!

Was this version of Word preinstalled on your computer? It could be a trial
version and the time has come to pay for it.

Thanks for the reply JoAnn, however the answer is; no it's not a trial
version it is a fully bought boxed pro version from PC World U.K. I have
updated it to SP2 and all the updates as suggested by Microsoft. It has also
been protected by an up to date Virus checker and firewall (Norton), but all
my icons and I forgot to mention Menus still don't work. I have even gone
into the 'About Microsoft Word' box and clicked on the disabled items button
which tells me nothing is disabled!!!
It is driving me insane. Any ideas how to contact Microsoft directly?

Thanks - Ian

installed any other programs.
