Why is my footnote separate line a full horizontal line on one pa.

I have a document that puts a full horizintal line before my footnotes only
on page 2. The other pages are fine with a 2" separator line. This document
does this at Sheridan as well as at home so I say it's a bug with Word 2002.

It's not a bug. That is how it is supposed to work. When a footnote
continues from the previous page, Word uses a Footnote Continuation
Separator instead of a Footnote Separator, to signify it's continued.

You can set the Continuation Separator to be the same as the regular
Separator, though. Copy and Paste.

Switch into Normal View and go to View | Footnotes. A footnote pane will
open up at the bottom. Use the dropdown menu at the top of the pane to
access the separators and change as desired.
