Word has insufficient memory. Is there a way to change limits?

When working with a word document with links to Excel. I get, Word has
insufficient memory error when I make changes.

If you or someone else has set changed the default memory management
setting in Windows, make sure the maximum has not been set too low. Let
Windows manage... is the best choice, in my opinion.

Aside from this, run Scandisk or Chkdsk /f, depending on Windows version.
Then run the defragmenter (on all local drives). Restart Windows.
