2003 programme removal - now can't receive mail in Outlook 2002

I have removed my trial version of Office Professional 2003 and now am able
to send but not receive mail in Outlook 2002 - error message 'The operation
failed'. Can receive in Outlook so not an ISP problem.
Anybody have any suggestions?
