3D effect

I have designed a flyer with a picture of a DVD front cover with a spine. I
want to give the picture and spine a 3-D effect. When I click on the picture
and then the 3-D effect button on the formatting tool bar, all of the options
are greyed out. How do I apply a 3-D effect to the picture?
