Access 2K Database Window Display Bug?

Tony

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone else has seen this. When I reach have more than a dozen
objects displayed in the database window, I sometimes 'lose' them. Here's
what happens, using a form as an example:

1) Open the form
2) Make a change to the form
3) Save and close the form
4) No forms are displayed in the database window
5) Go to a different group of objects (Tables, for example)
6) Return to the Forms group
7) All objects displayed

Note that this doesn't affect how the database operates but it is quite a
nuisance. Can anyone offer any insight? I'm running:

Access 2000 SP3 (9.0.6926)
Windows XP SP2
Dual ViewSonic G220fb Monitors both at 1280x1024
NVIDIA Quadro FX 500/FX 600 Video Card
No difference whether dB is on local or server machine

Thanks & Ciao,

Tony

I'll bet you're using Windows XP Themes for the Windows XP O/S. That is a
"bug" that you'll see in many ways in ACCESS and other places.... namely,
the window seems to not refresh itself so that the cursor knows where the
windows are... You'll see this in the Relationships window (cannot grab a
table unless you click on another table first), cannot click into a box in
the QBE view of a query unless you move the box off screen and bring it
back, etc.

When you see this absence of objects that you describe, just press F5 in the
database window to refresh the window.

Thanks Ken,

You hit the nail on the head. I haven't run into this QBE but have noticed
it in the relationships window in the past. Thanks a lot for the heads up,
I appreciate the help.

Ciao,

Tony
