Access limitations

an access file can only be 2gb. at which point it seems to crash
violently. i think that you can have as many things in the database as
you want as long as you are under the 2gb ceiling.

i hear this limit is a 32bit addressing issue. so when 64bit hits main
stream shouldn't be a problem anymore.

recommend you open Access, open Help, and do a search on "specifications" to
get correct information.

I'm pretty sure the 2 Gb is an Access/Jet limitation.

It is an Access issue. The limitation is set by Microsoft to help ensure
data integrity. The Exchange/Jet database is 16 GB for versions < 2003 and
75GB for version 2003. It is a different type of Jet, but works somewhat
similarly.
