Advice on Access2003 database deployment

S

StuJol

I have been putting together a database that i wish to deploy to my customers
using the developer extensions. What i need advice on is getting the database
tested on different platforms. Will my access2003 database packed with the
package wizard using the developer extensions work on all platforms? or would
it just work on XP, which is what ive used to create it.

Ive been looking at VeriTest.com which is quite expensive but im not sure if
it is Necessary

Can anyone offer me some advice please

You should package it on Windows 2000.

Always use the earliest version as the platform.

Access 20003 runtime won't install on Windows 98,
so Windows 2000 is the earliest version you can
use as the platform.

So you should package on Windows 2000.

Frequently, there have been problems if you try
to install a package from a later platform on a
earlier platform.

Will yours work? Maybe. In the past there have been
problems, which you should try to avoid.
