Version of outlook? If 2003, you can disable all alerts by clicking on the
tray icon and choosing the option to disable network warnings and exchange
messages.

It's caused by network connectivity issues - other versions had similar
problems, but never told you about it.

We have encountered the same problem. It only affects a handful of users and
they have they have had the problem for a while. We have done a “rolling
migration†from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 and I expected the problem to
go away when they were moved to the new server but the same users are still
having the same problem. I don’t think they had the problem when they had
Win2K and Office2K. The problem started with WinXP and Office2003.
Connectivity between server and clients is fine – it is not a bandwidth
issue. Process utilization on the clients and servers is also fine. During
these times our users get an unable to display message when they try to
access another email. We have not completed our migration to WinXP and
Office2003. None of our Win2K/Office2K users are having the problem. As
more users get upgraded more are experiencing this problem.
