Auto Numbering field is skipping numbers. How do I fix it?

I am now in a new job and my predecessor set up this table with an Auto
Numbering funciton to automaticly assign customers' numbers. We have not yet
reached 300 in this table, and I have noticed that there are numbers skipped
in the Auto Number field (over 30 different numbers). I wonder if my
predecessor deleted these customers and in doing so erased the numbers from
use? Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this, or should I just ignore
it?

Thank you!

Ignore it.
Autonumbers need only be unique. There is no need for them to be
consecutive. Anytime you enter, and then delete, a record you will
have a gap. It doesn't matter.
