Auto update link tables

I have a split database, and I need to send the database to a sister office
in another state, because they cannot get fast enough response on the
network. I have no idea what their disk layout is, but I would like to put
the BE on a server and have the FE loaded on individual machines (via copies
of a master). But how do I globally change the link table list in the FE to
point to whatever their path is for the BE, so they don't have to change 30
pointers by hand?
