I & my parents would like to know what supplies & books I need
for next year,becuase I am upgrading my cornet to a trumpet &
"Strait Music Company" won't us upgrade until I get a list.

I really doubt that a Microsoft employee or contractor (note the e-mail
address) would (1) be posting this kind of message for his/her "mom" and (2)
would be unlikely to be sufficiently clueless to post an e-mail in a
newsgroup.
All a free reverse phone search shows is that the number given is a cell
phone number in the Austin, TX area. It might be someone getting revenge on
a personal enemy hoping enough people will call to overuse their "anytime
minutes". It might be someone hoping you'll call and they can collect your
phone number.

I noticed the email address and the fact that they posted this to three
newsgroups, these two facts together made it highly unlikely to be genuine.
There are some very strange people out there!
