(2) would be unlikely to be sufficiently clueless to post an e-mail in a
newsgroup.
All a free reverse phone search shows is that the number given is a cell
phone number in the Austin, TX area. It might be someone getting revenge
on a personal enemy hoping enough people will call to overuse their
"anytime minutes". It might be someone hoping you'll call and they can
collect your phone number.
