Batch save attachments?

Are you able to select multiple emails in Outlook and save all of the
attached files to a certain folder on the hard drive?

But I wanted a way of doing it without having to download a program. Is
that not possible? And if not then why haven't microsoft built that in?

Outlook doesn't offer the capability, other than what is in rules, unless
you use VBA and write a macro. See outlookcode.com for code samples.
