bullet style lost when copying to a new document

Hi,

I am using Word 97 and having a problem whenever a copy
several paragraphs from one document to another. The
bullet style is not coming over with its bullet attribute.
The style shows as bullet and when I re apply it it's OK.
If I copy a single paragraph with the bullet style it
copies over correctly.

Does anyone know why this would be happening? Any help is
much appreciated.
