Can I remove the codes from styles and Table of Contents?

I have a document that is being written for a committee, and it seems
that they have trouble with the foratting, particularly the table of
contents. I think it may be an issue of incompatability of versions
or something. Anyway, I would like to remove all the codes relating
to the table of contents and to the styles (e.g. Level 1, etc.). Is
there a way of doing this without going through the whole document,
revealing codes, and deleting each one?

Thanks!

Hi,

They aren't codes (as in WordPerfect), they are styles. It sounds as
if you have an automatically generated TOC and the other folks don't
know how to use it.

If you want to unlink the TOC, you can do so by selecting the TOC and
press CTRL + SHIFT + F9.

I hope this has been helpful to you.
