Color changes when I publish to PDF

I have prepared an A0 sized poster in MS Publisher but when I go to Publish
it to PDF all the Blue and Red Text boxes change to black. Is there anything
I can do to prevent this? I am using MS Publisher 2007

Are you using the Microsoft add-in? Try a different converter, see if that
solves your problem. There are many free converters around. www.primopdf.com
is mentioned here often.

Thanks for the comment. Yes I was using the addin. I have tried CutePDF as
well as PrimoPDF. Both reproduce the colors correctly but they won't
reproduce some of the other images correctly. At least you have alerted me to
where the problem lies. It sounds like there's probably not much more I can
do. I'll see if the printer has a more reliable PDF converter.

Might be worth a try to save as a Picture in the PNG format.

Hi,

Thanks for the ongoing feedback. Your solution has led me to better
understand the limitations of Publisher.
1) I have created an A0 poster. The printer has asked me to give him a file
that is 300DPI but I cannot save a document that size at that resolution in
PNG Format.
2) I found in one of the help pages that images with transparency won't
convert well to PDF and they are the ones I am having problems with. It
suggests grouping those items together, saving them as an Bitmap and
inserting the picture. Unfortunately that too is too big to save

I think I will just take what I have to the printer and see if there's
anything he can do, otherwise it's back to the drawing board or see how a 150
DPI image looks

FWIW...in my version of Pub 2007 I can save
as PNG and on the 'Save As' screen I can click
the 'Change' button and select 300 dpi.

Also...you could try saving as TIFF / 300 dpi.

I just thought I would post this as the only solution I found, in case
someone else is looking for a solution to the same problem. I ended up
copying and pasting the text box into another application and pasting it back
as an image instead of a text box. It can't be edited as text any more but it
prints out correctly now.

I had the same problem with MS Publisher 2007 and Primo PDF changing some colours. It has just happened in the last month after years of working perfectly! The only change has been Windows 10 update and a new graphics adapter. Odd! Anyway, I used the Print to Microsoft PDF and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately the MS PDF has very limited customisation, so it really sucks that something that has worked so well for years has changed.
