I am sorry to post yet another "Corrupt Attachment" posting, but I searched
all the existing ones and failed to resolve my problem...
Platform:
Windows XP Pro
Office XP
Norton AV (Corp 8.1.1)
Spam Scan: AdAware
Spybot Search and Destroy (protection enabled)
If I create an email in Outlook and attach ANY type of document (.doc, .xls, .
pdf), the recipient cannot open this doc.
The message says:
The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions. *Check the
file permissions for the document or drive. *Use the File Open Dialog box to
locate the document.
However, (once again on the SENDING BOX), if I open the document in its
native application (Word, Excel, Adobe Reader) and select EMAIL document from
the respective appliation's FILE menu, the document opens perfectly!!!
Examination of the two emails on the RECIEVING BOX shows them both to have an
attachment:
- with the same name
- listed with the same size
- that is detachable (but the bad one won't open directly from the email OR
from a saved location on the HD.
Something from within my Outlook application is corrupting my attachments.
Any thoughts???
