Corrupted Attachments

Lovehardware

Recently, my company has upgraded to Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.

Till now, my users have complained to me that the attachments sent out was
found corrupted by some recipients.

Listed below are what I have done to troubleshoot.
1) In the Internet Mail Format, MIME option, I have selected plain text.
2) Update all patches for MS OFFICE 2003.

But the problem still persist.

What might be wrong?

What type of corruption? For what type of attachments and what message
format is being used when composing the e-mail? Checked your virusscanner
already?

Client end is installed with Symantec Antivirus. Exchange 2003 is installed
with Trend Micro.

I have tried with plain text and html format. Both gave problem.

Attachments that got corrupted are WORD, EXCEL and PDF for now.
There are 2 types of corruption,

1) when the recipients double-click a excel attachment, it said, file
corrupted and try to repair. It will fail to repair but the file can be open.
Just that the format and info are all wrong. There was one excel attachment
that turned into garbage contents!

2) the attachment was embedded at the end of the message body. But the
contents were garbage!

I have the corrupted attachments with me. Let me know if you want to take a
look.
