Created or Modified Date

When I download a Word doc that is an email attachment sent by anothe
person, the "Created" and "Modified" dates automatically become the dat
and time of my download. I'm wondering whether there is a way t
determine the original dates when the document was actually "Created
and "Modified" by the person who emailed it to me
