Hi. I'm sorry if this has been answered before but I can't find anything
relevant in my searches.
I have another report done in Excel that I'm trying to create within
Project. It's a benchmarking type report. So let me try to explain what I
need. We're a construction company so I'm going to use the actual info but if
for some reason it doesn't make sense, let me know.
The report tracks projected and actual plaster dates - when plastering is
completed and the payment related to 'start of plaster work'. This is usually
the midpoint of the project because plaster completion means all framing,
rough plumbing and electrical is done. So anyhow, I guess this might be
considered a milestone (the payment certainly is) but how can I flag a task
(named the same) but not always the same task number across multiple projects
so that I can create a report based on those tasks. I can ask my project mgrs
to name the task "Plaster Date X" or something but there may be user error
involved out of my control. Would this be a reason to use the WBS codes? Can
I set all plaster task entries to be a certain WBS number even though the
preceding or following tasks may be different?
Thanks!
