Custom Work Contour?

Is it possible to create a custom work contour? I found an icon for an
'edited contour' in the help file but I couldn't find any instructions on how
to do it. Note: we are using Project 98.

Thanks.

wolfspaw,
You are in luck. Work contouring was first added as a new feature in
Project 98. There are several built-in contours available or you can
customize your own. The Work Contour field is a property of an
assignment object.

To see or set a built-in contour go to one of the Usage views (Task or
Resoruce) and select an assignment row. Then go to Project/Assignment
Information and select the desired contour type.

For a custom contour, again go to either Usage view. Manually enter the
hours for each time period over the span of the assignment. If you
display the Work Contour field it will show the word "contoured" meaning
it is a custom work contour.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. I wasn't aware of the manual editing. What I would
really like is to be able to name and save my own contour similar to a double
peak or bell, etc. It appears that is not possible, correct?

Wolfspaw,
That is correct. Custom contours are one task at a time although you may
be able to copy and paste the values from one task to another in the
Usage view. This of course will only work if the tasks have identical
duration spans.
