Default account keeps reverting to hotmail using Outlook Connector

Hi, I have noticed others have the same problem but I have been unable to
find a "solution." I am using Office 2003 and have the new version of Outlook
Connector (Dec 2007). I keep changing my default account in Outlook to my
pop3 account, but every time I go to write an email it reverts back to
hotmail as my default account. Any ideas???

Is this for when creating a new email or when replying/forwarding?
Which folder set holds the Outlook Today folder? The one of your POP3 or the
Outlook Connector?

Thanks so much for responding, Roady!! So, it is usually when I am creating a
new message, but I think it occurs at times when I am replying to messages as
well. (Of course, when I just tried to recreate this scenario it worked the
way it should!)
My Outlook Today page shows my Inbox from my POP3 account (Comcast).

I just exited out of Outlook and re-opened it, changed my default account
back to Comcast and tried to send a message. It worked properly. Then I went
to my hotmail account and it also worked properly. I did a send/receive for
all accounts and it was still working properly. Then, after I checked my
Outlook today page (something I never do), I just went to test it again, and
it changed the default account on me again. Honestly, it seems random, as
sometimes I will go to send an email and it will come from an old hotmail
account that I very rarely use (I have two hotmail accts and 2 comcast accts
on one outlook profile).

Thanks again! I am hesitant to use a new profile because I had a lot of
problems with that with XP and I never did figure out how to get all of my
customized settings transferred to the new profile. Nevertheless, I will try
for "testing purposes". Hopefully the process is improved with Vista. If you
have any other ideas, please let me know. And I'll let you know how the test
goes...

Not Windows profile, mail profile (Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add).

I realize Roady was talking about the Outlook Profiles, that is what I had a
lot of problems with before -- too many to mention!

I read the info on the link you provided about creating a new profile, but I
am still very hesitant to do that, unless you can explain a way for me to
also transfer all of my rules and other customizations to the new profile.
Maybe this is easier than I think it is?? Alternatively, if I do create a
"test" profile, is it easy to delete all traces of it after the test? I am
asking because I have thousands of messages in each of my accounts (I'll save
that for another day). Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult!
