Display First Value in Message Box

Hi

I link dbf (dbIV) files to an access database manipulate the data and output
it to a fixed length text file. I would like to display the first record in
each dbf file in a message box for the user before starting the manipulation
process. Is this possible? Using access97 and Windows 2000.
