dleted messages disappear - dont go 2 deleted items folder - why?

I am running Outlook 2007 on Vista. When I delete an e-mail it doesn't go to
the Deleted Items folder. It just dissappears. I've looked everywhere and
can't find anything within Outlook to help.

Any ideas??
