Hi Rick,

you could only change the name of an Outlook profile if you "copy" the
profile.

Control Panel/Mail/ => doublick on Mail => Copy

Now you will ask for a the name of the profile.

Normally all things will be copied BUT, we made the experience that
sometimes the passwords of the email accounts are not copied, so I would
copy the profile and I would work with the new profile before I would delete
the "old" profile.

.....and if I'm not mistaken, you cannot then delete the old profile, or the
new one won't work. Perhaps that's no longer true, but I've certainly seen
this behavior in the past.

Thanks, I think I can live with the copy feature. I only have about a half
dozen passwords to copy.

Thanks, Rick

Hi Lanwench,

if you copy a profile (and delete the old one) the new one will work. We
checked this in Outlook 2000 (CW-Mode) Outlook XP and 2003.

Sometimes the email account settings made problems, so we couldn´t send or
receive emails. After we deleted the accounts and created them again, it
works perfect, but Outlook profiles are always a little bit strange. ;-)

I just copied and renamed the profiles and it all worked just fine, including
passwords. Thanks everybody!
