Hello,
I just finished reinstalling, formatting and restoring backups and somehow I
now have two copies of the same folder, with identical subfodlers, in
Outlook. I could ignore one but my email addins see and pull from each which
doubles everything.

How do I remove one of them?

Thank you

You've corrupted your mail profile, probably by importing from a PST. Never
import from a PST. There's no reason and you can corrupt the mail profile.
Start with a clean profile and configure it to use the PST you wish.

If by duplicate you mean the entire Personal Folders tree is duplcated, then
it would appear you corrupted your profile in whatever method you used to
'restore' your data.

If however you mean only some folders are duplicated, then once again your
restore process was responsible

Hi Brian,

I created a new profile. BTW the help screen is inaccurate. Mail is its own
item on the Control Panel rather than a subcategory of User Accounts.

When I open Outlook there is a Personal Folders already there. About 7
folders (Junk, Sent, Inbox etc.) all are empty. When I File Open the PST file
the first Personal Folders does not go away.

Depends on the version of Outlook, then version of Windows, and the Control
Panel view.

No, it wouldn't. You must use the E-mail Accounts button to make the added
PST the delivery location first. Then you'll be able to go back to the Data
Files button and remove the empty PST.
