Hello All

Since I have renewed my subscription to Norton Internet 2005. I have had
problems with recieving and sending my emails (POP3).

Over the last two years i have rarely had a problem.
I renewed my nortons subscription last week.
I use Windows XP with Office 2003 and use Outlook as my mail client.
I use broadband (No issues with internet)
I use Nortons, (firewall, spam, firewall etc)
I download daily the updates to nortons
I have downloaded all my updates for XP
Error messages include 00x80048002 and 0x8004210A
My outlook will get stuck on 50% and do nothing.
I have to delete and add my email account for the issue to disapear and then
happen a few days later.
I have XP SP2 on my Dell machine which is 12 months old (Lots of memory and
pentium machine.

Any suggestions to rectify this fault long term, my ISP provider suggested I
tun off my virus protection!

Best wishes and thanks

I downloaded a Norton update on Jan. 2. Next day I had the same problem, with
same error messages, can not find incoming server. I thought the problem was
with Cox Comm. and have been fighting them last two days. Just disabled my
anti-virus for about thirty seconds and every thing worked fine. Fixing to
check notify Norton. Thanks.

Did anyone ever figure this out? I just came back from a brief trip and am
now having the same problem. I don't use Norton. Only real changes to my
system would be AV and Spyware updates. Very frustrating.

The same thing happened to my and I fixed the problem by:
Go into Norton
Click on Personal Firewall
Click Configure (make sure you're logged on as "Supervisor")
Click on the Programs tab
Click on one of the rules and press CTRL + A to select all programs
Click on remove and then Ok to confirm
Then click on Program scan then next
After program scan, click check all. Then next
Then click finish.

You should then be able to access your Outlook e-mail. See Symantec Help
for "Scanning for Internet-enabled programs in Norton Security or Norton
Personal Firewall". See also "Cannot send or receive email after you run
LiveUpdate".

Good Luck!
