Error 1706! AARGH!

I installed Publisher 2002 on my new Windows 2000 box... this was done while
logged in as administrator (of course)

Then when I switch over to the account I created for everyday use and tried
to fire up publisher, it goes into a setup routine and then throws this
error number in my face and says "Setup cannot find the required files.
Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential
solutions to this problem, see: G:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office10\1033\SETUP.HLP."

WHAT FILES, DAMMIT???

After clicking OK, Publisher starts up just fine.

HOW do I get rid of that annoying error?!

You need to install Publisher 2002 for each user, not just the
Administrator.

You must be a masochist using Windows 2000 on a desktop. Amazing what some
people will do and use.

OK - doing that right now.

Eh? Say what? Masochist? I built this box - 800MHZ Duron, 256MB RAM (with
plans to double it to 512)... I'm not the nitwit you obviously make me out
to be.

Problem solved! If you hadn't been such a smartass, I'd be showing my
gratitude.

two comments:
1) to ASSUME is to make an ASS of U and ME.
2) There is MORE than 1 flavor of W2K. Do you REALLY think I would be a
DUMBASS and run a server OS on this lil' ol' tower? See Comment #1.

Dave, ignore MS Publisher's crassness, and accept the advice he offers. Some
people HAVE to be didactic and psuedo-macho in order to make it through the
day. He really does have great advice if you listen. Kind of the Wheat and
the Chaff thing.

Rock dorcusess/rude dummies that come here ranting, raving, screaming and
crying, carrying on like a little child that just spat its dummy/pacifier on
the ground will always get a good solid tune-up from me. There is
absolutely no necessity for it - WHATSOEVER.

I have never let dorcusess/rude dummies get away with it, and never will.
