Error applying Office2007 B2TR to MS Project

Mark Edmonds

I downloaded the B2TR refresh (had Office 2007 Beta & MSP Pro 2007 Beta
installed). Everything seemed to install OK, but right at the end of the
installation, it told me "You have at least one other product or language
that requires Beta 2 Technical Refresh. Use Add/Remove Programs to determine
which products needs to be updated on Windows XP."

I can confirm that MSP 2007 was not updated with this technical refresh
which explains why it crashes everytime on startup.

Has nayone else seen this problem? Is there a separate technical update for
MS Project 2007?

Help!

I had the same problem when I first installed B2TR on Project, but when I
then installed B2TR on the rest of Office it stopped crashing. Only now I
can't do a Save As and Project Guide doesn't work.

Hi Mark,

I don't have my laptop with me right now, but I can confirm there are two
updates that need to be done. I first installed the Tech Refresh for MS
Project 2007 Beta 2

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...df-14a0-4cc0-b946-4f0dd9d2b88a&DisplayLang=en

and got much the same error as you did -- telling me there were other
programs which needed the refresh. Before installing the Tech Refresh for
the rest of Office 2007 Beta, when I started any other office program (other
than MS Project) the product would start in "safe" mode. After installing
the Tech Refresh for the rest of the office products, all seemed to be
working fine.

I hope this helps.

Hello again Julie!

You said 2 updates need to be done. Do I have to run the B2TR twice? How do
I get the second update?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi again Mark :)

If you are running Office 2007 Beta and MS Project 2007 beta, there is a
separate update for Office and another one for Project. If you go to
the following site you'll see a 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2
Technical Refresh release date 9/6/2006 and another listing for Project
2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...491&freetext=2007officebeta2tr&displaylang=en

It sounds as though you downloaded and installed just of Microsoft
Office system TR and need to download and install the Project Tech
Refresh

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

most of them have been fixed with the TR, but will check.
