Excel file overwritten by mistake

I combined two files of the same name but instead of keeping the new file
kept the older one. Can I get back the newer file?

This is a Microsoft Access newsgroup, not an Excel or a Windows newsgroup.
We help build database files in MS Access.

You may want to try a more appropriate newsgroup.

Not very likely; you would do better, though, to ask this question in
an Excel newsgroup. Scroll down the list of subjects on the lower left
of the screen and find Excel; this newsgroup is for a different
program, the database program Microsoft Access.
