Exclusive error

A user of a shared database gets an error every time he opens it saying the
database is not open in Exclusive mode and any changes may not be saved. This
message pops up about 10 times before he is able to continue opening the
database. I did notice that toolbars from Adobe acrobat were being added
after acknowledging each message. I am wondering if these toolbars are
causing the messages since it's a shared database and any toolbar/menu
changes would generate this message. If this is the cases, how do I stop
Acrobat from adding the toolbars?

Hi, Vince.

Let me guess: Adobe Acrobat Writer 7.0 was recently installed. Is so, you
hit the nail on the head as to what's causing the problem.

Run the Adobe Acrobat installation again in modify mode and deselect the
PDFMaker for Access only (so it remains for the other installed MS Office
applications), and you'll get rid of the Adobe CommandBar items for all of
our versions of Access on this computer, yet still keep it for all of the
other MS Office applications.

HTH.
