Gantt chart dates are different than task dates

I've created a project w/ MS Project 2007. The project starts in September
2008 and runs until January 2009. When I look at the Gantt chart, the
timeline is September 2009 to January 2010. The 'start date' in PROJECT
INFORMATION is 2008, and I've been unable to figure out why the Gantt is one
year ahead. Same is true when I click on the Calendar view. I checked to
see if my version was missing a service update, but I am up-to-date w/ the
latest patch.

You may want to check to be sure the fiscal year hasn't been changed to
something other than January. I believe this can cause what you are seeing.

HI, I checked that and it is set to January. My problem is that the Gantt
displays EXACTLY one year off. Today appears as October 2, 2009, when the
task date is October 2, 2008. If I create a new project, I get the same
thing.

Hi, my fical calendar is set to January. The Gantt is thrown off by EXACTLY
one year, displaying dates for the current month as October 2009 instead of
October 2008.

Hi,

I don't have Project 2007 here to check, but check the timescale settings in
the Gantt chart. Right click over the Gantt and uncheck the option "use
Fiscal Year".

Better?

Great -- I'm Glad to know that was the cause of the worries. I'm
glad to have helped and thanks for the feedback.
