Generic template without specific dates?

Is there a way to create a planning template that does not rely on
specific dates? I'm thinking of entering tasks that start on "Day 1"
and have duration of n days, etc., without being tied to specific
calendar days for planning purposes.

Thanks

Hi,

Project files, whether templates or normal project files, should not rely on
specific dates.
When you enter tasks and durations, link them together with the necessary
relations (the walls have to be set up before the roof can be made, f.i.),
dates in Project are there only in relation to the startdate, and it is
sufficient to enter a new Project Start date to have all the dates adapted.

So I put it back to you: if you don't enter specific dates, Project won't
use them in calculation.

And BTW, but this is merely a presentation thing, you can show a timescale
like D1,D2, etc.

Hope this helps,
