Has anybody used MS Access to meet the requirements ISO9001?

This is for a small 5 person Company with Sales and Service just starting up
but want ISO acredation as soon as possible. I have been mulling over the
idea and I think it would work and I think that the ISO Acreditors would have
no problem however before I charge off into this I would like to know if
someone else has done it or have any comments positive or negative. Looking
forward to hearing frm you .... John in Tenerife

John,
That's a pretty broad question...
While Access is a good choice for any business applications, it's the
database design and functionality that's critical to ISO accreditation of
your system.
A poorly designed Access application will no more pass ISO than a poorly
designed manual system.

A system I built for a fabric manufacturer passed ISO recently, and...
according to the client, ISO was primarily concerned that whatever system
they were using (whether automated or manual) could properly track all
phases of their business activity.
As it were... at the time of certification, the Production portion the
application had not been built, so ISO must have felt that the manual system
they were still using was sufficient to meet their requirements.

Thank you Al Camp,
From your message I read three bullet points: 1) Access is a good choice. 2)
Get the design right (to me that means: tables and their relationships) 3)
Being able to demonstrate accurate tracking of all of the business
phases/processes is critical.

I know that it was a pretty broad question but you took the time to answer
and I really appreciate that. thanks again!!
