Horizontal shading in the Gantt Chart

Is there a way to create shaded horizontal lines like in an accounting
ledger, in the Gantt chart? We are using Project 2003

We would like to be able to create a print out on drafting paper that shows
the tasks and the Gantt Chart over a several year period. Towards the end,
the tasks and the corresponding Gantt Chart bar are so far away it is
difficult to line them up. We're thinking that some horizontal lines would
help to match them up.

On the menu, Format/Gridlines...
Select Gantt Rows and then set the type, color and interval on the right
side of the window.

There are plenty of choices for the Gantt rows along with all the vertical
column choices.
