Hours

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a project in hours, so one working day is 7.5 hours.
9am to 12:30 then 13:30 to 17:30. I would expect 5 continuous days to be
37.5 hours and in the Gantt chart shown as 5 full days.
Tools options set to work entered in hours. When I go to Tools, Change
Working Time I choose options and then enter the above and press Set as
default. Go back a screen and when I choose use default it still has 08:00
to 12:00 then 13:00 to 17:00. Anybody know what's going on?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Rooster,
It sounds like you've covered most of the stuff, but the true test in in
the details. Here is what you should have
A. Tools/Options/Calendar tab:
Default start time 9:00
Default end time 17:30
Hours per day 7.5
[Set as default]
B. Tools/Change Working time:
Select all work days by selecting the column headings
Select non-default working time option
From 9:00 To 12:30
From 13:30 To 17:30

That should do what you need. For reference you might also like to take
a look at FAQ 5 - Default Working Hours on our MVP website at,
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm

Hope this helps.

FYI - the "default" working hours are hard coded and cannot be changed. You
can create as many calendars as you need using whatever working hours you
want but anything other than M-F, 8-12 & 1-5, will be considered
"non-default hours" by definition. What appears to be setting the default
hours on the Tools, Options, Calendar page is actually setting the default
times Project will supply in date fields when you manually type a date but
don't explicitly specify the time as well.
