How can I disable MS Outlook folder synchronization on POP3 serve.

MS Oulook insists on sychronizing folders and needs to be disabled. The PST
file is small, only 3.5M, I'm not working off-line so there is not an OST
file. I'm unable to receive incoming messages. How can I disable this
undesirable feature? MS Outlook help files do not provide direction and
on-line help only manages to address MS Exchange difficulties of which I have
none.

Synchronizing means doing a Send/Receive to collect new e-mail. If you
disable Send/Receive you'd be quite sure not to receive any new e-mail so I
don't think it's an undesirable feature.

Anyway, what send/receive error is reported?
If you have a virus scanner integrating with Outlook disable this
integration and try agin.
