How can I edit a Works document that I scanned into word

I need to put a number of pages for our United Fund. the information is on
another older computer that has works on it. I have word. How can I
edit the pages once I have scanned them into my computer. where should I
scan the pages into? I have XP and I think that the other computer is either
Windows 95 or 98 thank you very much
