How can I fix a repeated .pst file error using scanpst.exe?

I encountered the .pst file error when open Outlook. By using scanpst.ext,
the file can be repaired and a new backup file is creaded. However, after a
while (20-30 minutes), the same error message appears. I repeated several
times but still got the same problem. Is there any way to fix it?

1.87 is the absolute limit for a pre-Outlook 2003 file and you have exceeded

Thanks a lot, Milly, I trimmed .pst file size down to less than 1 gb and it's
working fine right now.
