How do I add students to the classroom management database?

Dear rebos54:

It is better to ask a question in the body of the message, but I think I can
figure it out...

If you are talking about Microsoft's template for classroom managment, I
think I can help - I've been looking at that template recently. When looking
at the "Classes" form, click on the "View Student" button. This will open a
form to add or edit students.

Note: On my computer, the button was obscured for lack of screen space... it
is positioned below the listing of students per class.

Thanks, but after I add the student, that student doesn't appear in the
class. In fact when you use the form to add there is an error on the
assignment part.

Hello, again! I thought you were asking how to add a student to the list of
available students, but I believe what you really wanted was to assign a
student to a class. Well, let's try again...

1. To add a student to a class, you need to click into the blank cell in the
"Student" column. That's the cell just to the right of the asterisk... This
will produce a drop-down list of available students. Select one of the
students from the list, and the student will added to the class.

2. To add a new student to the list of available students, click on the
"View Students" button to open the "Students" form. Add the student using
this button. NOTE: This new student won't be added to the list of available
students until you close and re-open the "Classes" form. This is because the
drop-down list needs to be requeried. A fully featured program would have
requeried the student name combobox, but it is only a template after all...

Post back if you have further questions!
