How do I change the password in XP to launch outlook?

When I select the Outlook icon, I'm prompted for a password. I know the
password, but I need to change it. Where in XP do I change this password to
access outlook?

That totally depends on which password you're being asked for. If the one
from your ISP there is nowhere in Windows you can change this; you do this
in the control panel (on the web) provided by your ISP.

Thanks for your response. I changed my ISP's password, and the one in
outlook for the ISP, no problem. The password I'm having a problem finding
to change, is one that is required to open outlook. When I select the outlook
icon, I'm prompted for a password. This is needed to open outlook, not after
outlook is running. Again I appreciate your time in responding to my
question!!

It is not an "XP password". The operating system has no knowledge of
the password that was used to encrypt the .pst file. It is a password
that you put on the .pst file that Outlook opens. After loading
Outlook and opening the message store (.pst file) which required you
to enter the password, right-click on the root node for that message
store, Properties, Advanced, and change the password.

Yes, as you've set the pst-file on the default message store you are
directly prompted for it.

When Outlook loads, it opens whatever .pst file is its default message
store. You have the message store password protected. So you load
Outlook, Outlook tries to open the password protected .pst file, so
Outlook prompts you for the password to use that message store. That
is why you see an immediate prompt for a password.

You could test by renaming the .pst file. When you load Outlook and
it cannot find its message store in the configured path to the .pst
file, it will prompt you as to where it should find its message store.
You could then have it create a new .pst file or cancel (and then
rename the .pst file back to its prior name).
