How do I delete a message that is already partly transmitted?

I composed a message a few days ago, attaching several .jpg files to it. The
message has been trying to transmit from my Outbox for three days now and I'd
like to retract it (I forgot to decrease the size of the files, so I think
the message exceeds the maximum size). When I try to delete it, I get a pop
up saying that it can't be deleted because it's already in the process of
transmitting. Any suggestions?
