How do I get rid of the task pane in Publisher 2007?

Whenever I open up an existing/new Publisher document, the Task Pane opens up
as well, over on the left side. I do not want that to happen, I want to get
rid of it. Does anyone know how to 'turn it off'?

You can't get rid of it, you can close it for the session. The task pane is a
tear off; you can minimize it to small and drag it to a less used part of your
screen. Publisher remembers this; it will be minimized the next time you open
Publisher.
