How do I give border art a transparent background in Publisher 07?

Miss P.T.

I have designed a card and I am wishing to use Border Art around a text box.
However, it seems to come complete with a white background (the Border Art I
mean, not the text box - I know how to make a text box transparent) and I can
see no way of turning this off and it's rather ruining my design. Is there
any way I can get rid of the white around the border design?

A screengrab can be provided if my description isn't explicit enough.

Draw a rectangle around the text box, select the rectangle, lines, more lines,
BorderArt. Send it to the back.

Thank you for your reply, Mary, but this DOES NOT make the background of the
border art transparent, I can still see the white background of the BA
against the coloured background of my card.

Am I not being explicit enough?

Thanks very much for any further assistance.

Sorry about that,

Select the BorderArt, copy, paste special as a .png or .jpg or bitmap, select
the new image, use the transparency tool on the picture toolbar.

Well, that works - to a point - but the result is extremely fuzzy and
pixellated. Any way of doing it and keeping the original clarity? I'm
designing a card for a close friend and I want it to be my best work!

Thanks very much!

Miss P.T.,You can also paste special as a .wmf, ungroup, delete the white parts,
regroup. A bit tedious.
The best solution would be to go to the Office clipart site and select a new
border.
