How do I hide non-working time

Kevin

If I understand this there is no way to remove non-working time from a gantt
chart???

I have one that is being done in hours (information is entered from 8am -
5pm) the chart itself prints on 5 pages because it is displaying non-working
hours from 6pm - 7am the next morning and the chart covers 3 days.

There has to be a way (other than creating the project in excel) to remove
non-working time from being displayed.

Being NON-WORKING TIME why would MS force it to be display?

Anyone know of anything other than project that can be used and will allow
you to remove extra info you have no use for?

Kevin,
Unfortunately you understand correctly. Many people have posted similar
questions/requests so it's possible that that feature will be
incorporated into a future release of Project. Meanwhile, as you say,
you can export the Project information to a more "graphics friendly"
application, or you could do selective printing to eliminate the
non-working time (i.e. on the print page include the time in the "From"
and "To" timescale). Granted, this is not convenient, but it will get
what you want without unnecessary pages.

Hope this helps.

Thanks John. I already put it to our MVP inhouse as a suggestion to MS to
change. Excel works just takes longer to set it up.

Thanks again.

Kevin, I am having the exact same problem. I have a schedule done in 5
minute increments spaning over a 5 day period. What a wonderful way to waste
a forest when you try to print it out. MS needs to do something about this.

I have not tried the Excel interface before. It looks like I will have to
explore it.

Thanks for the tip.

Schedule in 5 minute increments??????? Talk about your micromanamgent!
Seriously, why bother with such precision? Human endeavors are NEVER so
predictable or controllable, thank goodness!, and most projects are
collections of human activities directed toward the creation of a final
product.

As to why the timescale is done this way, ever see a clock that instantly
jumps from quittin' time at 5pm to coming-in time at 8am the next morning?
Project's timescale is the clock/calendar backdrop against which the project
work is planned and behaves just like the clock on your wall, always
displaying all the hours of the day. Tasks could concievably occur at any
hour of the day or night that resources are available to do them.
